my favorite saying is 'when guns are outlawed only ,outlaws will have guns'
we have to stand together to protect our constitutional rights as they are constantly under attack by wolves in sheeps clothing people should check the voting record of all their elected officials and hold them accountable to the constitution. It is the gameplan if not the catalist of our freedom

The 2nd ammendment was written because there was an army - the British army. The British government was our government before the Revolution. They were an oppressive government. The 2nd ammendment was written so that the people could defend themselves from that ever happening again.

Well, no it wasn't. It was created to defend against an invading army.

But that's okay. We can agree to disagree.

You know, this thread has made me think twice about owning a gun. I think i may look into it. So many times i wished i had one to protect my livestock outside.. A shovel can only do so much damage to something...

And a BB gun..i think is just kinda mean..if i'm going to kill it, i want it dead...not suffering. I'm talking with hubby tonight.

Has anyone here seen the movie V for Vendetta? Read the comics? A perfect example of what COULD happen to an unarmed population with a socialist government going out of control. My favorite quote from that movie.... "People shouldn't fear their government, their government should fear their people" or something close to that. We put these politicians in office, we should be able to vote them out.

The 2nd amendment not only allows us to hold guns to protect ourselves (from our own government) but it allows each state to build and train their own militias (from their own government)......... Because the founding fathers wanted to make it legal and right for the population to overthrow a government that has become so out of touch with what the people truly want.

Let me give an example of the government not listening to the people anymore... Barack Obama was asked on his facebook/myspace interview a number of questions....... the NUMBER ONE question was about the legalization of marijuana. He flat out refused to get in the discussion even though 85% of people there want to talk to him about it...... Or illegal immigration? Thats a hot topic that has been swept under the rug. Most Americans polled would like to see the country rid of illegal immigrants... what has the government done about it? Nada... zilch
