Community Supported Agriculture. Basically people pay up front beginning of the season for weekly food boxes from a farm or group of farms. It.gives the farmer much needed capital at crucial times of.the year. I'm providing eggs for a friend of mine's csa, so he will be distributing them in my community. I will also be raising meat birds fore him until point of slaughter, and he will get the ones he gives out slaughtered by a licensed person. CSAs are a great way to connect people to their local food systems and the people providing that food.
This is just awesome!

Thank you 😊 for the explanation! I live in NE Wisconsin and had never heard of a CSA before. Sounds like a neat program!
I know of 2 CSA's in the Green Bay area. I drive past both of them on my way to work. One of them asked me about growing for them, but I passed. Too much work.

One CSA, the landowner rents out plots of farm field to people, them buys produce from them for including in the CSA boxes. Most of the renters are Mong farmers and this gives them a chance to do what they know best - farming. He has more people that want in than he can supply...

CSA'a are getting to be very popular.

It's a beautiful thing. Not everyone wants to participate in factory farming or support Monsanto produce, but they just don't have the time or money or whatever to farm. This gives those people a way to fight the systems they abhor and support local farmers aka HEROES.
