I really do not want anymore than 2 chickens. I have so much to do around here as it is. I also have 2 ponies, 2 dogs, 3 indoor cats and I take care of 6 stray cats outside. The new chicken is a girl ! I have always fed them All Flock.
Can't let them out of the coop because there are a lot of raccoons here even out during the day as well as Hawks. Wish I could free range! Even just 2 chickens make quite the mess
Thelma is very tame. She does squat when I am near and also when I bend over to pick her up.
She also sometimes stops laying. She laid for 2 days after Louise died and now skipped a day.
When I go in the coop now if the other chicken is out of the roost she runs it off. I guess I will try bringing the containment cage back in. It is actually part of a small coop run I had when I first got Louise before I had the large one built.
Will post some pics
