I have had both. Ducks are cute, but more messy. Ducks only love you if there is one.

I've never owned ducks, but I hear they are pretty personable. Ducklings are the cutest. I'm pretty sure the 'straight run' ducklings at Tractor supply are 80% male, just an observation.

One idea to try rehome kittens is to hang a sign in the grocery store lobby as most have bulletin boards you can pin an ad on. Facebook poultry groups is another place where I've seen lots of kittens needing homes and they usually get several responses.
