My beautiful partridge cochin hen who I adopted 6 years ago had to be euthanized today at the veterinary office. She originally came from a farm where she was starved, kept in an overcrowded pen inside a barn with barely any access to fresh water . She was a complete skeleton when I first brought her home. She was infested with lice and had never walked on grass. She proceeded to live the next six years of her life roaming my two acres of property and living in the lap of luxury. She was the sole reason I got into chickens. She brought immense joy to my life and I am so fortunate to have been touched by such a tiny soul.

But heres my dying wish
Find another pet who needs you
And let them have my dish '
