Had to say goodbye to my runner ducks today :(

This is why I did my research first. I'm not a law and order guy, but there's always someone, law enforcement or not, who will have a problem. I'd be heartbroken if I had to give up my quackers!

Going through the same thing right now but.... I lied. "Ok, Officer! I'll be sending them to my mom's house then where they can live in the pond!"

Mr. Officer is super pleased and puffed his chest out at how good about it I was and how big and important he was.

I called my mom and told her if she ever got a phone call, she now owns two ducks. She laughed and asked where I put them. Told them they were currently taking their nightly bath before getting in bed with the kid for the night.

ANimal control has been to my house twice in the last 5 days over the ducks but do you think they've done a darn thing about the pit bull that charged and attacked my kid on Saturday and tore him up? Tore up the dog he was walking? Then turned around and bit his owner? Nope! Let's be more concerned with Chuck and Buck the killer ducks.
Some cops are just jerks looking to make themself more important in some way others are crazy horrible and and seem to think your going to be a major drug bust for them and boost their career (yes some are sadly that nuts I had to deal with one when I was 16). But you could always get a goose and train it I hear chinese ones are used like guard dogs lol.

also to the OP I'm sorry you were forced to get rid of your ducks. is it really local law agaist them where you are?

Unfortunately I am going to take my chances and if I am told about them then I am moving I will not get rid of my ducks when these dogs roam the streets tearing up everything! I'm so sorry about your babies

I'm so sorry this happened. I'll never understand why a town would allow chickens but not ducks. They are roughly the same size and care level.
I know this post is old, but couldn't an owner fight the city in this circumstance at the time? Especially if said town isn't enforcing thier ordinances about dogs and cats?
