Yes, roos can really get on your nerves!

I put my hand into the coop to give my hen a quick pat, then suddenly he bit me! We had a lot of big wooden sticks lying around to whack him with, but I tried to resist the temptation because I got him in enough trouble before. But still..........:thun

Help I have a bad boy he would not let my wife out of the car. He was jumping at the door. I have tryed picking him up and carrier him around undermy arm. then I tryed carrying around by the feet up sidedown. These work for a few hours and he's just as bad. I tried putting him in a box for a few hours and yes, he was better for a little while.and he tryed to beat up my son. I have 19 hens and 3 roosters and he is only bad one. He is a very beautiful Leghorn and I hate the idea of getting rid of him. Oh, he 10 months old. My wife son and daughter are afraided of him and keep saying make him go away. Oh yes, they are all free range. What if I tied a string to his leg and make him stay in the pen? Any idea I'll try

roger shackel his legs together with a shoe lace or something it might help keep him from jumping, make it loose enough so he can walk but not jump. personally i would get rid of him and get another roo.

We have two roos, Cogburn which is a sweetie, and Quantrill he is evil. He mainly just comes after me, but has challenged our DGD and DH. He has cornered me in the chicken yard, so now I keep a stick by the gate and if he is around I carry it with me. Last month I was putting them to bed and heard little running feet behind me, blackie and basketball LOVE to get treats and they always run after me to get them first. Imagine my surprise when all of a sudden I feel something hit the backs of my legs hard. I turned around and there was Quantrill the little sh*t spurred the back of my ankle!! He doesn't have many more chances before he gets to try out my soup pot that already has his name on it. He really is a beautiful roo, I wish he would calm down.

I do keep a spray bottle of water by the sliding door, whenever any chicken come on the deck I spray them, they HATE it. If Quantrill sees the bottle he runs FAST. I didn't ever think about taking it with me to the coop:idunno I will try that, I think it might work, Thanks
