Well had two of my quail get out found out my dog is a natural soft mouth retreaver. She got both and didn’t harm them. Keep that in mind next time when I’m chasing one down the street

Oh I love it when they know how to do that! My doxie cross could keep one immobilized long enough for me to grab it by running around them in a circle and using her chin to tap them on the head. Luckily she didn't like the taste, the few times she instinctively grabbed one in her mouth she spit it out and made the face my cats make when I have to give them a pill!

I'm so glad your dog knew just how to help and I'm glad you got your birds back
