So i have a 16 year old daughter who's dead beat dad has dodged enforcement for years. my last payment was in 2005 and for 1 payment before thst 2004 1 payment. he is 16,789 in the whole!

So i just got an enforcement letter which found his address( finally after years and years) and he has 2 jobs. Say what? 2 jobs, ok then what's next? aparently they will start garnishing his wages. REALLY, i am not gonna believe it if they do!

i have been to 4 states trying to get enforcement and finally Florida came through! Would have though differently but i guess i was wrong. Now what?

I will just die laughing when i get my first check in over 4 years. And just to note he has 10 payments on record. That's really bad since she is 16 now. Just made me chuckle.....hahahahahahahahah

I guess there is a karma child enforcement god, lol

and by the way....i will not believe it until i have my 1st check!

Wow congrats! My MIL's youngest is 33 and she just started getting $50 a mo in child support last year. He's never paid and he left when the youngest was like 8.

My ex not only evades on my kids but on the twins that are 2 yrs older than mine and I believe on the one that is 3 yrs younger. He works at a job until they start to conect the Child Support dots then he disappears. He's a pro at it. And he doesnt file income taxes, which means that someday he's going to get into a lot of trouble and get his come-uppance! Either that or I wouldnt mind if he got hit by a truck and I could get Social Security for my kids, that works too.

Come to Canada, my husband is still paying support faithfully every month, one month due to fees or some nonsense he was TEN BUCKS in arrears and they called him at his place of employment (only time ever in arrears). I guess I should mention said child is 21 with a baby of her own and she is not even his bio child, oh and doesn't live with the support recepient. Aint that the life.

he shouldn't have claimed her then! and if he has arrears that never leaves you! You'll be 80 paying them, lol

he claimed her when he was told by his wife at the time that she was his.

He was never in arrears (besides 10 bucks for 20 minutes) Im talking CURRENT payments

couldn't he have protested it? I believe it's called modification here. I would think she would have to pay him back? why 21? she in school?

i know here they pay until they are done schooling or 18.

can't modify, shes not in school and not living with the support recepient. In fact she claims she didnt know we were still paying

My DH and his wife made the deal that when his son turns 18 hes off CS. That is what is written in the lawyer's papers. Not when he gets done with however many years of college to become a marine biologist, just 18 years. Thank goodness for smart hubbys!

you can always modify here. Sounds hoakie sorry! i would contact someone again. that really sucks!!!

I've spent enough on lawyers, she gets legal aid we pay so she just drags it out til we are out of money, the retainer is $5000.00 just to start.
