They are calling for hail and strong winds for this afternoon, so this gives me a few hours at most to move all of my yard cages and put protection up for the chickens out in the pen/run. I also have to put up panels to protect the rabbits. The last time we got hail and strong winds, we lost 4 trees. One of which was directly in the middle of the rabbit cages. We didn't have any chickens get hurt though, thank goodness. We didn't have any time to prepare for last time though. I have building scraps lying around, but my tin is underneath about 1,000 lbs of old lumber that I can't move by myself.
I know you're probably out there working by now, all the best. Whatever you do for today, think about next time and how to quickly move your animals and/or shield them fast, as though a tornado were coming...we live in the north so we always build like there's going to be a blizzard, because we get so many!
