I don't know what would give you the idea that I am the least bit 'crafty'...just an odd egg, I guess.

I did mine with small drill bits that I just spun in my fingers. You have to go slow though (using more rotations and gentle pressure) I ruined one egg because I was trying to get through too quickly. I reemed one hole larger with a slightly bigger drill bit after I got the smaller one through.

I pound a nail through a board until about 1/2 inch sticks out, tap the egg ends on the nail until I have a hole, and then blow really hard.

Sounds like you already have started your decorated egg... just saying..
