I have a question. I have a couple different ideas for decorated eggs but a few of them involve breaking the egg in half. Is that acceptable?

There is no rule against, but the judges may wonder if the egg actually matters in the piece.

The only "damage" to the shell should be holes if people want to blow out the egg(s).

Darn, I wanted to do a painted egg with a chick hatching out of it with its legs sticking out the bottom and it's face peeking out the top with the top of the shell like a hat.
