Half and half... (gender set-up)

Oh, yes--I didn't realize you had two hens (sorry, I must have misread). Two hens to one drake will be hunky-dory. The reason two drakes to two hens doesn't work is that the males are competing so they feel like they have to mate constantly--not good. With just one drake, the mating activity will decrease significantly, no one will be fighting, and you should have a peaceful yard.

That's ok, yes there are 4 birds total.. 2 drakes(one handicapped) and 2 hens, i worry about rehoming the injured bird as he is almost blind in one eye so that would take a very special home.. whereas the other drake is totally fine.. big and full of himself

After reading these posts and others I have decided to rehomea pair of my ducks. I have a friend with a pond on their land and want ducks. I have an extra drake that flew in also. I may send him too. There might be other females for him. Tough decision, but I don't want my females beat up on!

Your keeping your hens aren't you? I'm quite fond of my hens which is interesting as i usually find the males more friendly in just about every other animal
