I had a chick die unexpectedly the other day. Probably a month and half to two months old. Looked fine, acted fine. I picked it up and under its left wing he had a lack of down like under the right wing. Any ideas here? My other chicks haven't been effected by anything.

Mites can cause loss of feathers and will drain the life out of a bird. Check your other birds for mites to confirm that this one may have died from mites. The feather loss could be totally unrelated. I am sorry for your loss. [IMG]
