Half my hens are broody and half are molting

I'm not getting ANY eggs. Hmmmmmm.

It does seem to be that way....all or nothing. I'm almost in the same boat.....8 hens and only one laying for various reasons.

As they say...'.All things pass.'...it won't be too long before they start up again.

However it does seem ironic when you have a flock of hens and have to resort to buying eggs.

I have 1 broody and 12 other hens that are *supposed* to be laying. I got 4 eggs today. But in their defense, I'm expecting at least 5 of those to start molting.

Same here, molting or not old enough or not laying. Turned the light on yesterday to lengthen the day. Hope it helps.

I have 14, 7 hens and 7 chickies (almost 3 months) and am getting only one egg a day for awhile now. The buff orps are always broody, and when they are not, they are in molt. And now… the winter is coming. The wild birds are eating all their food and I feel very discouraged. But I love them so will deal.
