Half silkie half cemani

Out of the 10 backyard mixes that I hatched tuesday, two were silkie/ayam cemani. One baby has 5 toes on both feet and this little weirdo has 5 on ond foot and 4 on the other! It's so cute!

Interesting! I hatched out a Silkie mix with 9 toes around Easter last year, half Cochin in my case. He's a lefty with his extra toe, though. I hope you keep us updated on how this baby grows!

Our rooster is the cemani and the rest of the eggs were from starlight green eggers, easter eggers and BSL. There was one pure cemani but it passed shortly after hatching

Sorry, they will not have the silkie feathers, as this is a recessive trait. If you breed two of the crosses together, 25% of the chicks will have the silkied feathers.
I love silkie crosses! I have a few as well. I have noticed their feathers are softer then regular feathers though.

Aw, yeah, LadiesAndJane is correct, the gene for silkie feathering is recessive. I don't believe Cemani are known to have a silkie-feathered variant, so none of your current chicks should end up silkie-feathered, unfortunately, but they will carry the gene.

I love the look of smooth feather silky mixes! I have 6 week old silky mixes and AC mixes (but not with eachother) every one has regular feathers. The white silky mix will have a cute feather cap. My other silky is an EE mix. My AC/EE girl and one AC rooster chick with a mystery mix. The last 2 are mixes with no silky or AC.
