I was told this chick is 5 weeks but she definitely isn't.
She still has some down baby feathers on her.
I have others I was planning to put her with but she is half or less than they are in size.
For now im keeping inside but she's alone :(
I drove 4 hours each way for her and want to do my best to keep her safe and healthy
Do ayam cemani grow really slow? 20250601_212859.jpg a690a4ee-419b-4934-90f0-432fab2fa067.jpg

Feathering looks about right for 4-5 weeks old, maybe it's just a runt. I don't know anything about the breed though.

Size shouldn't really be an issue if your other chicks are close in age. Assuming you aren't planning on quarantining this bird, it'd integrate quicker while they're younger than waiting until they're older.

She is insanely small. I have only babies right now in one coop. I dont plan to quarantine the babies from the babies but they aren't near my adult flock. I put her in there and I just dont trust them around her. She still have down on her also. She just seems so tiny and fragile compared to any other chick I've had. She does seem healthy. She is very attached to me also. I have a third coop I put her in during the day yesterday so she could at least see them but safely.
