Thanks so much for the kind words! It's really easy to do your own pumpkins. You don't have to be able to draw a straight line!
Get your kids together or your friends! Have them bring their own pumpkin.
Feel free to use any of my ideas.
All you need is your imagination, a clean dry pumpkin, acrylic paint (
Walmart has it in the craft section cheap!), and assorted brushes & sponges.
Prepare a place that you can work.
I like the kitchen table. Cover your area with newspaper, and wear old clothing when working.
Set out plastic plates and plastic cups of water.
Draw off your outline with a sharpe marker or use stencils.
Go online and search for halloween drawings or coloring pages for ideas.
Then add your paint.
Clean your brushes often. Dip them into the water and swirl it to remove the paint, then squeaze it out in the water, blot with clean paper towels. The paints can be mixed on the plates to create new colors. I like to work inside out. So, that means you do the inside areas then outline what is left. You can prevent mishaps by following this plan.
If you mess up then immediately blot with damp paper towels. Then repaint the area when dry.
Remember that once it drys acrylic will be there for eternity(Beware of carpets etc.)!
Have fun and get going!
