I'm curious to see what color my cochin we hatched ends up looking like. He's got some unusual coloring patterns, the feathers on his feet are black AND yellow ;o

Day 17 for me

Now I have even more problems, I had to add some day 7 eggs in there, because my silkie hen was overloaded with eggs. She got way more than she could handle. I guess those new eggs are going to have to go without turning for a few days during lockdown

Well we do that with shipping eggs... maybe put a segment of egg carton with bottom cut out so they stay air cell up like turner, and don't get rocked around during delicate vessel growth time...? I've been stagger hatching, and have needed to keep my "not ready" egg in a carton away from the rampbuctious new hatched...saved 2 that way...

I actually just used this idea for my shipped eggs, I cut holes in the bottom of all the spots, so they get more oxygen during incubation. I was trying to figure out the best way to get more oxygen to them, and it hadn't occurred me to just cut a hole in the bottom.
