I'm waiting for internal pips on one, and external on the other.

If the one who was internal isn't pipped outside by tomorrow, I plan on putting a little hole for breathing and leaving it be for another day or so before I try to help it.

keeping a close eye on the other one though, it doesn't seem remotely ready to hatch yet, it hasn't even turned towards the air sac yet.

On another note : my silkie eggs that are in the other incubator, are developing nicely, for most of them. I'm glad I got a big batch, because at the rate i'm going, I think if I get 8-10 to hatch out of the 30 that got sent, I'd be doing pretty good for shipped eggs.

2 hatched while I was away this weekend #3 became the soccer ball and got confused, never internally pipped
congrats liz!

Looks like I'm slipping in just before the deadline. My incubator is preheating right now. Eggs go in tomorrow or Thursday. It's been several years since I have incubated. I am looking forward to it. I am obsessed like a newborns Momma. Checking the Bator day and night when I incubate. I have 12 Wyandotte eggs and 6+ (depending on what my girls lay today) Light Brahma eggs going in. Still lots of room in my incubator though....so tempting to pick up more eggs today!

The temperature in California seem perfect for incubating right now. I'm hoping successful hatch.
welcome to byc and the thread!!! good luck!!!

I had about 24 eggs in the bator, set to hatch on the 1st. I only candled once, and only one egg appeared to be fertile. I've been having trouble with my humidity pump, so I was adding water each day. Yesterday, I gave up since there was no sign of the one egg hatching (or any of the others - I left them in there). I've been ignoring the 'bator

I just got a call that there is an almost dry - sort of fluffy chick running around the 'bator. Humidity is down at 30. It hatched some time this afternoon - day 24. So, I guess it was just a little slow, and VERY DETERMINED.

Now I have 1 sad little chick. I'm hoping I have a broody momma in the silky pen!
