HALLOWEEN Hatch-a-Long 2016 w/ Hosts, Mike, Sally & BantyChooks

So this am around 6, this chicken pipped through the side. Seems not normal. No real progress in almost 7 hours. Leave it be or coach it out. I can see it still moving through the membrane.

I take away the hatched chick put it in a brooder until hatch is complete.
These chicks started to hatch on Thursday and finished today, I don't have any problem rebinding them with the mom, but she is sitting on a new batch now.

Day 17. Noticed some rocking eggs, so I took out the turner and raised up the humidity a day early. 9 eggs look perfect. One may have died, but I'm not sure. And one has an abnormally positioned aircell, but the chick and veining looks fine.

I'm loving all of the new baby posts! We had our first one of this bunch hatch about 30 minutes ago! It's a tiny banty mix :) I'm not at home, but my husband took a pic for me. I'll have better pics later.

OK I didn't finish the posts. I wanted to see how that chick is doing. I believe the bubble you are seeing is the crop with fluid and air in it. I've seen it a couple times. I believe both were sticky/late hatches. As for the bubble look at it under bright light if it's still there. In the case of my chicks I was able to see through the skin(which was freaky) and I could see physical air bubbles under the skin. I dont know what caused it but I was able to very carefully massage the air bubbles out. I did not massage the liquid out BC I didn't want the chick to aspirate. I would assume that if it is just excess fluid from the egg their body would absorb it. Unfortunately idk if the egg was beginning to smell bacteria may have also been swallowed.

If anyone has info on this occurance or has also seen it I would love to hear you about out in case I missed it in the messages I didn't read. Yet.

Good luck with the chickie! I hope it makes it for you.
