Ok heres another i was told:
just as a bit of background, Lake George, is just outside Canberra Australia to the north, its known as the disappearing lake, (sometimes it is completly covered in water, sometimes its dry and used as stock grazing land, sometimes it is both) has something to do with the underground water table rising and falling.
One night while driving home along the highway at Lake George, this guy comes across a teenage girl hitch hiking, maybe 16 - 17yrs old, he doesnt usually pick up hitchers, but its about 3am and raining, and he felt sorry for her.
So he picked her up, she was nice, very grateful, and they got talking, she told him her name was gracey, and where she lived and it was only about half hour before he dropped her off at her door.
Next morning he noticed she had left her jacket in his car, and since she was such a nice kid, and he remembered where she lived he figured he'd return it to her.
After knocking on her door he was greeted by and older lady, he introduced himself and handed her the jacket letting her know gracey left it in his car last night when he dropped her home.
The lady just stared at him, and then at the jacket. She then invited him inside, and proceeded to tell him about gracey. Gracey had been murdered while trying to hitch hike home from a party near lake george 12yrs ago. Her killer was never found.
