Halo--First egg from Marans X or Marans x Rock hens!!

At my request, Halo sold me some eggs from both her Marans (cuckoo x Wheaten) and Marans x Rock hens. They hatched out in November, and today I got my first egg from one of them. Found it in the run, so it's scratched up a bit, but I'm very pleased with the color.

Didnt that turn out nice?? Thats the first layer for the Wheaten marans rooster that Im using. I almost think it has to be from the Marans x rock crosses, since you got an egg so early. If so, thats pretty spectacular. And gives proof to the fact that the rooster does contribute to egg color. Neat!
