Hamburg spangleding on an OEGB?

not to my knowledge, I had thought about crossing silver spangled hamburgs on real nice typey white old english and creating that color in OE, but I am not knowledgeable about genetics to try to tackle that one...

I think Birchen would be a better color to cross to. With Laced being the best, but I have not seen pics of any Laced OEGBs with very good type.

I am curious why you think birchen would be best to cross with? Silver Spangled Hamburgs dont have lacing do they?

Spangled Hamburgs are Birchen at the E-locus. Lacing (as in Sebrights) is genetically the same as Spangleding with the edition of columbia. I just went on Ideals website and saw that they have Campine colored OEGBs. If you crossed them to Laced OEGBs and then breed the F1s together you would get one in sixteen correct spangled OEGBs.

good to know, I am still learning the genetics, there is a LOT to learn and hang onto....thanks for the info

I would love to order some of Ideals Blue Milles, golden necked and their Blue Laced Red Oegbs...the quality would be poor I am sure but I love those colors
