Hi guys I wonder if you can help.
My Hamburg is around 9 months old, she started laying a few days ago, an egg then and an egg today. But today I noticed that she has a bald patch at the base of her tail feathers, onccloser inspection it appears she has lost loads of feathers across her back too, it is completely bald when I pushed the feathers back, about the size of the palm of my hand. It doesn't look red or sore so don't think the others have pecked her, but I saw there is a sort of green vein at the base of her tail that looks quite obvious, it doesn't really look swollen either, otherwise she seems in good health. Checked for mites /fleas but no sign. Anyone got any idea what this could be? All other hens are fine.
