Verthandi, I am just wanting to applique, but have it be part of the quilting. I managed to get the rest of the flower shown above and one other one almost done last night.( Only took me about 3 hours.

)

So I have got to a kind of a system that i am hand appliqueing, then taking a "bite" all the way through at the corners of the flower sections.

Terri I did a few blocks using that fuse method. I do a machine blanket stitch after the block is fused before I sew the blocks together. I know this is a little late

to help you. Will it help if I say I feel your pain???

I almost did that, but then figured I would have to go over that section to quilt it anyway and why not make the applique part of the quilting?

It will be fine when it is done, but there are 20 flowers. And if I don't get it done before it starts getting hot here, it won't get done til next winter.

Terrie, I agree with everything said above but thought I would add..I have found that for applique and quilting that a true quilting needle is much better..I know you think "a needle is a needle" but to me it seems that regular needles have a "drag" on them. I like the Piecemakers sz 12 and the Richard Hemming & Sons # 8..both betweens.
