I use size #11. Bought John James big eye needles, a pack of 12. Every single one snapped in half during this quilt. They were easy to push through the layers, not too hard to thread, but they don't last at all.

Then, bought some Roxanne Big Eye needles, a pack of 50. They are stronger and easy to thread, however, they have such drag on them, seem fatter, it's hard to push them through the layers and then when they push through, they scoot through too fast and make it really difficult to control and get my super small stitches I'm famous for.

Is there any hand quilting needle that is strong, easy to thread, yet is slick enough not to drag? I'm very frustrated about now. I'm on the border of Ellie's quilt, but my fingers are tingling from exertion using these Roxanne needles!
