Open Contest Handcrafts Show—2025 BYC Summer Fair

Hello!
Just a note: I had to fix the lighting on the photos as all of our bulbs seem to give off an orange/yelliw glow. If these don't qualify, I'll wait until we have sun again and retake the photos.

This is a necklace I made from
  • Glass seed beads
  • Glass dagger beads
  • Glass fire-polished beads
  • 20lb beading wire
  • Gold-plated clasp
I included some close-up shots for detail.

I started beading about 23 years ago and even tried to make a business for/from it. As much as I love making jewelry, no one wants to buy it. So, every jewelry wearer I know gets a piece as a gift for birthdays, Christmas, and other random "becauses".

My entry #1:

The pattern name is Textured Bands. The finished work is approximately 53"x69" (not counting the fringe)
The afghan was worked with 4-ply worsted weight Aran yarn, using crochet US size hooks G and I.
The work was done from side to side over 346 stitches. The pattern contained single crochet stitches worked in front loops only, back loops only and yarn overs to make clusters. It took me approximately 4 months to finish the afghan.
Labor of love!
