Hi all,
Help please, this morning is day 29 for my duck eggs. 1 has ok drawback the other just a little bit of drawback. I candled last night & so moving & i can see veins.
I know not to help until i see internal pip, but hiw long do i wait? I have a homemade incubator & Temps she mostly 98/99F ish. Humidity was good the whole time & nite is at 70%ish. last month's attempt went horribly wrong & i really need these 2 to hatch.
What is the latest you've had duck eggs hatch? Help please

Does your incubator have a fan in it? at 98F even with a fan forced, it's possible to see delay in hatching. How long to wait? If you mean before helping, there's not much you can do unless they've internally pipped and have been for at least 24 hours, even then, the only thing you could do would be a safety hole. Assisting is more risk than help unless they've been externally pipped for 18-24 hours. How long to wait to give up...I don't give up until I'm certain there is no longer life.

If you are seeing draw down, then that's a good sign.

I don't candle again over here, til Sat night, day 21, but currently I have 11 going of the 24 shipped! Getn really excited! Best o luck w your hatch!

Amy said pretty much everything I was going to say. Sounds like your temp was a little low, which can cause a late hatch. At this point there is nothing you can do. You just have to wait and see if they internally pip. I would check them about every 12 hours and take note of any progress. Nature has to do most of the work, we can only help when they are ready.

Yay!! From what I can see they look good! I like my humidity around 70% or higher but lots of people like 65%. It's totally up to you.

Lol. I'm up to 11 pips!!
Most the time they hatch fine for me but a couple times I did have to help and when I got their heads out I said the same thing you did!!

Eh, I figure if somethin' is gonna kill me it might as well be something I enjoy, lol... besides, we want an accurate assessment of what this drake will throw...

Btw, only found 1 egg in the duck house this morn... so figured I'd have to keep my eyes open and sure enough...

They left 2 of your eggs in the mint bed...

No fan, justfoam cooler light bulb, foil,wet sponges vent holes & window.
5pm here they look the same on outside, I'll candle at dark.
I'm so anxious, maybe a glass of wine is in my future lol.
