With that much membrane exposed it doesn't matter how high the humidity is, eventually it will dry out. If you have any neosporin with out pain relief or Vaseline, or coconut oil, you can apply a light coat to keep it moist. You can bring it out and start taking the air cell end off and see if the veining is retracted and see if it's ok. Just make sure to stop if there is veining or blood.He's been in the same position since 6AM. I popped the shell back a bit, and he did the membrane, which is drying out even with lots of humidity. This egg had a saddle air cell and he pipped through both the shell and the membrane at the same time outside the bubble. Should I leave him? Yesterday the same thing happened and the chick turned all the way around and drowned at the bottom (or got stuck?) He might be a bit quieter than before--he'd been answering his loner sibling! Thoughts? I don't know what I'd do without you...![]()
