Hands on hatching and help

Help! I'm hatching OEG x Silke eggs, my incubator doesn't have a humidity monitor, I've been following the instructions booklet and adding about 100ml every two days but today is day 19 and I still don't think the air bubble is quite as big as it should be! I have stopped adding water and went into lock down yesterday, I am hoping my Wednesday the air bubble will be big enough for a successful hatch. Is there anything I can do to help the process? It's my first hatch and there is only 10 eggs that all seemed fertile and active last time I candled them!

You can buy hygrometers very cheaply, I paid $2.99 for mine at a hardware store. I highly recommend you grab one.
Pet stores will sell a thermometer/hygrometer combo that takes up little space. Just don't buy the National Geographic digital one; it was total garbage.

This was so fun, I just set more last night. :) Fingers crossed that it turns out just as good!!! 2 serama, 2 chocolate bantam orpington, and 5 CCL eggs :)

I too highly suggest always having a hygrometer to guide you and monitoring the air cells at days 7/14/18 during incubation.
Now, that isn't going to help you at this point, so, I would run dry until the first pip if you are going to be around to monitor them, and then higher it for hatching. I would hatch them upright in cutdown cartons if possible to give them a better chance

I put them in a cardboard carton and it's running dry, hatching isn't due until Wednesday night so hopefully I have enough time!

Amy, do you hatch upright or lay your eggs down? I think I may try upright next time.
I have always hatched laying down. Depending on how these shipped eggs go that I will be recieving next week, I may hatch them upright. I prefer laying down though and if possible that will be my choice.

Day 17 and I'm readyyyyyyy!!!! Can you tell I'm excited??! :haha Not my first time with chicks but my first time incubating.

I will have 23 going into lockdown tomorrow, fingers crossed they all make it. Candling and observation have shown me viability in all of them, I started with 24 but one quit around day 5 or so. Will let you all know how things unfold :)
