Hands on hatching and help

I don't see why people say hatching call ducks is a challenge! I had 18 eggs to start off with and have ended up with 9 beautiful ducklings!!!! May have another one to go aswell

Because if you have calls that have small beaks and short necks, they struggle to get out of the shell. Some calls do not have this issue, most do. They struggle to breath and there for you get a lot of them that end up sufficating..

18 Eggs, were they shipped or your own? If they were your own, I would say Why was the hatching so low? if they were shipped, I would say EXCELLENT JOB.........

60 YOU HAVE 60 BABIES COMING??  OMG, talk about OVERTIME.

Almost all of them are presold!! And better yet, I'm not hatching them!! I've got the best broodies. They even tried nesting in the snow this winter.... Bunch of quackadoos!

They were shipped and 6 of them I lost through the first 2 weeks and then through lockdown I lost 2 with one more maybe still to hatch!!

I had to help 3 as 2 of them were shrink wrapped and the other one was deformed but is making Good progress!

So from just this, you asked why they are a challenge?? LOL

@RubyNala97 check out this little pretty. From my white silkie or my barred bantam cochin hen covered by my blue frizzle bantam cochin roo. They all look alot like this one. 3 blue and 3 black, and it looks like 3 frizzle and 3 smooth. I can't tell the mommas' eggs apart yet, so does this have any silkie look to you? Only 1 has 5 toes (not the one pictured) I was sure hoping I would be able to figure them out, once they hatched, but I guess its going to take more time

Is that a frog in the back ground?? HAHAHAHHA you know my chickens will eat frogs> LOL That's a HUGE MEAL>

The two that were in it hatched, so guess I'll have to try better on the next batch!
