Got home to around 10 internal pips and 6 external pips. The externals are just the first cracks, but the domino effect has begun!! There is one with an actual hole going!!!

There was one that hatched yesterday (day 20) and there have been 5 more hatched today with no issues. Humidity day 1-18 was about 30% and has been about 45-50% at lockdown with it hovering more at 60% today with all the hatching going on. It is a farm innovaters 4250 circulated air incubator. There are a lot of eggs with normal looking external pips, these are the only two I am worried about since I see blood in both and one seems extra wet. I did open and slip it in an egg cup as previously suggested and can see a lot of moisture soaking into the cardboard egg cup from the egg that is extra wet. I don't want to make things worse but I don't want to let a chick die if it is something I screwed up with humidity/temps etc..    temp was at 99.5 almost on target almost all of the 1-18 and read to lower to 98.5 for hatch and it has been going back and forth between 98.5 to 99 since hatching started last night.

How are those two doing now? Are they put yet?

It's a relief when the air cells aren't a mess that's for sure!!
I love Calls they are absolutely adorable and I reeeeeaaallly want some lol. We need to build another coop before I can get any ducks and my husband is already building 2 more

..So for now, I'm just enjoying watching everyone else hatch ducks lol.

Thanks for your thoughts on my bantam eggs too! I was 90% sure they were all clears but it's nice to have another set of eyes take a look.
I think I'm going to set again next week (some of my own blue copper black & splash Marans) and I have my eye on a few ads and auctions I may cave and buy lol.

I don't like the looks of the Cream Legbar's navel.    Very red, a little puffy, tissue under the skin looks kinda bluish, green watery diarrhea. Also has one eye that is stuck shut.  Cleaned that off with warm water and a cotton ball but he's still not opening it. He's active, chirping, so I don't know. I repeat, how do you people DO this time after time!

Blooie, you can put neosporin on it. Also at most feed stores they sell a spray called vetricyn navel spray. It's great antibiotic spray on gel for navels or any wounds, even on the adults. It's a good product for the chicken first aid kit.

No change. Tried again to get that eye opened. It doesn't look like a thing wrong structurally. But it might not matter anyway with the naval like that. Is there anything I can put on it? I know, shooting in the dark. I have several good antibiotic ointments that don't have pain relievers in them. She's so doggone cute!

It looks like a small amount of unabsorbed yolk to me. Give it time to absorb it and you'll probably end up with a little of the membrane left that will dry and fall off. I had one similiar last year,


Mine was a tiny bigger I think and he did just fine.

The EE is out no problems and doing well. The first one I posted about is out still some amount of shell stuck to its butt and sleeping a lot not running around chirping like mad like the others. Leaving it in the incubator and keeping an eye on it for changes.

Oh, thank you! She's been named Sweet Pee, after my very favorite (and ridiculously fun) song! Except now that she's drying off and beginning to fluff a bit, I suspect that I see a white dot on her head, so she might end up being a him. That's okay....the name stays!!

I didn't these two were doing anything at all until the first holes appeared in the shell. I know, I know...don't say it!

I have Neosporin but it has the pain relief stuff in it. I also have Betadine. The cupboard is barer than I thunk it was since my last infections. (once you have gangrene infections are nasty - and frequent!) So looks like a run to Tractor Supply tomorrow. Leave it to me to not have the one thing I should have on hand....and here I thought I was prepared for everything! Maybe it'll just dry up and fall off by tomorrow, but that still leaves the eye to deal with. You all ROCK!

I just had one chick hatch perfectly fine last night. The second zipped completely this morning and stopped. I don't like to get involved especially when the progress looks good so I never opened the incubator. I checked at 12 and at 3 and now it was still the same. So I decided to check on it and he was almost like glued in there. I keep my humidity low during the first 18 days, 25-35. And at lock down between 65-80. What am I doing wrong. This also happened on my last hatch I had 5 hatch out and about 6 that got all glued up. Please help. TIA

When candling you can see a pointed like shadow (beak) inside the air cell. It's pretty obvious once you have one. Or at least in my experience it was. Moving egg usually means the little one is still getting into position. It shouldn't be too long now
