Ok thank you. I am hoping they are only behind, and not dead. And why is lockdown a dirty word here?

Here are some videos I took with the incubator open. And guess what? Nothing got shrink wrapped from me doing it! Though the eggs did cool down, but that was only because I had the lid off for at least 15 minutes.![]()

Thanks, I took a whole bunch of the duckling... was trying to see if I could get some of it popping out, but I filled up the memory card and didn't get it cleared before it slithered out.Great clips Kathy!
Some people don't follow traditional "lockdown" guidelines. There are quite a few of us on the thread that don't.Ok thank you. I am hoping they are only behind, and not dead. And why is lockdown a dirty word here?
I answered your pm.I have a chick hatching, but it's made no progress since yesterday. I woke this morning and the humidity had dropped to 55% and the membrane appears to be yellowing. It's open but yellowing. Is my chick stuck?
I have one chick fully hatched already but this other has been having a tough go of it. I'm a first time incubator and nervous
Foriegn word and I only speak English...lolOh I didn't mean here as in this thread, but here as in my house..but it's kind of null with a few on this thread too bc we definitely don't follow the "lock down procedure"..lol

that was great to read, as a first timer we were reading a million different threads about what to do or not to do so we knew when are scovy babies started hatching. We thought we wouldn't have to do much because mama duck was the incubator that's not how it turned out...we had to assist the first two because mama started picking them out of their shells yo the point of blood on the first one!I am a first time Hatcher. I had a foam incubator that would not keep temp or humidity right. I had one out of ten hatch. This second time around I bought an incubator that turns the eggs, keeps the temp, has a fan, and displays humidity. What an awesome piece of equipment. Today is hatch day and so far 2 have hatched and three are externally pipped. So I am pretty happy. I'm a nervous grandmother, lol, but I did open my incubator, candle the eggs, and talk to them even before any external pips. So my way like above may not be your way but it works for me.
That's great! Congrats on the babies!!that was great to read, as a first timer we were reading a million different threads about what to do or not to do so we knew when are scovy babies started hatching. We thought we wouldn't have to do much because mama duck was the incubator that's not how it turned out...we had to assist the first two because mama started picking them out of their shells yo the point of blood on the first one!We immediately got on here and asked for help scared from what we read that everyone would tell us let nature take its course. Instead we received posts from many of you asking for pics to help you help our babies!! Thank you to all of those who are " hands on" a d offered advice or contacts of those who might help! Being " hands on" made all of this happen! They're beautiful and healthy so what might have been wrong by the regulations of some turned out to be soo worth it by our " standards"!!![]()
