Hands on hatching and help

:lau u shound like me! She and I are close, but she knows I have 80 birds under 12 wks old :lau Again like you, most won't be here in six months. 20+ are CX who won't stick around long :p and then half the 15 quailing will be tasty plus any other cockrels who look yummy ;)
:highfive:
Ok @RubyNala97 I have updated pics!!! First one is the one that hatched white, but is feathering in gray I THINK this is my little dancer...lol I am not sure which of the two grays with vaults is my avatar, but I think it's him/her.... Notice the coloring around the neck.... Looks brown...partridge???? My other gray/silver...or "Blooie" as we tagged it. All of the whites ended up showing at least one spot of "paint" some more than others. One of the "blacks". So, this one has me stumped.....lol I thought awe, just a paint...but when I got it out to take pics I noticed the black "paint" spot on the wing was actually.... Brown and black. One single feather. I could not get as good of a pic as I wanted. It's weird.....lol My other "black". One of the whites that has a tiny light splotch Another one with just a touch of black And another.... The most prominent paint out of the bunch Apparently I missed one of the whites/paints...lol Cause I'm a pic short. Hard to tell these buggers apart. :)
:love they're just adorable!

Hi! I have some guinea eggs in the bator. We are on day 23. We candles today & one of the eggs was dark insude. The others you could see the chick in there. My question is in regards to the dark egg. Btw, loving this thread! Thx!

Well my little 5 month old broody Marans did an awesome job with her eggs! She hatched 5 of the 6 eggs under her and for a young first time momma has done a great job with the babies

Of course I haven't been able to catch them all out with her at the same time for pics lol.

mine dfidn't until they saw the babies out then bam 9 went with only 3 brooding boxes lol, be careful what you wish for

Wow 9! Oh my goodness. Did you give them all eggs?
no but the hens and roosters wanted to kill us , the hens took us over a week to get them from changing who was on the nests every time we turned around and none were laying, and with 2 roosters they were made cause the hens wasn't letting em have any fun

Just saw n haven't gotten caught up on the thread but how's he doing?
My guy still hanging in there..I catch him standing with his head between his legs a lot.. but still active..no change in the small blob of yolk in the last 12 hours or so but still not dry enough that I'm comfortable cutting it off or anything..one chick left in hatcher with him..I have to take my son to the doctor (came home yesterday with entire finger tip infected and swollen..must have had a splinter he didn't know about..he's 6 so hoping they don't drain it..)
But when I get home from the doc, I'm going to attempt some food and water for the little guy..he's running low on time to eat, especially if he didn't get to absorb a whole yolk..going to give him a scrambled egg with a bit of game bird starter mixed in and see what happens...maybe food will help it dry up and fall off..hoping my thinking that if he poos his insides are gonna come out too is not correct :\
These guys tear at my heart sometimes

I had two silkie mix chicks born with huge holes in their stomachs where their unbiblical cords were. I put a scant amount of EMT gel on them with a tiny piece of gauze.it was the size of a pencil eraser. After two days I wet the gauze and removed it and the bellies were closed. I love that EMT paste. It has healed so many chicken injuries.
