If there' s no veining, just finish helping it out if it's getting weak.

Just did. Started bleeding at the navel, it was glued in place! Put bloodstop powder on and stuck her in the other incubator, in a bowl, so she wouldn't get stepped on. I think I'm having problems because the humidity is too low. I can't get it higher though!! I fill the wells and put wet rags and bowls of water in and it barely hits sixty until first pipper. This one is the first, and the last batch had the same problem with #1 pipper getting stuck. I'm at a loss on how to get it higher.


This is so stressful...... Can't wait till I have babies in the brooder. I'm so terrified I will do something wrong and totally botch this hatch.

You've got a checked and accurate hygrometer in the bator, right? What's your humidity for your area? Is it dry where you are?

I have a really, really hard time keeping up humidity in my octagon 20. And when the inside of the egg is exposed (and I mean anything larger then a little pip crack) for any length of time, it can turn the contents of the egg to glue! It's terrible! that chick will probably need a bath and just keep an eye out to make sure it didn't swallow any "glue".

I use this material called "zorb" as a wick in the wells of the incubator at lockdown. It boosted my humidity 10-15% over using paper towels.

Yes, I do. Now (with several hatched) it is reading 73%, which I can believe..... it is 64% outside right now, was lower yesterday, when this un pipped. It just seems like the LG isn't holding humidity! I hadn't even opened the bator until a few had hatched (and sat on the soggy papertowels ) so I don't think that is a problem???

make sure your giving her water it will help her recover faster
