Hands on hatching and help

Normally when I get one like that.. I usally don't let it go to long.. I worry the the butt might dry to shell... as long as humidity is up.. I have just help dump her out
Ok. I'll wait a tad longer to see if she has fight in her.

This so reminds me of my little barnyard mix chick that hatched on day 19. Teeny tiny, and her sibling was even smaller!

One of my teeny tiny baby Serama chicks. It weighs 16g, two thirds of an ounce!! Its regular size sibling weighs 50g - two ounces - for comparison, so all three Seramas together are still lighter than the regular chick.

I love seramas! Anytime I see a post on them I have to keep my self from setting Serama eggs!

That's why I say I couldn't do duck eggs....lol the 21 days for chicken eggs is enough not to mention the amount of time it can take ducks go from pip to zip. I'd probably have a mental break down before anything hatched...lol
I had a hard time just waiting while my duck eggs were under a broody! If I had to be responsible for them the entire 35 days for my scovies I think I'd die!! Lol

I've got a peachick! It hatched early this morning. And another one is yelling at me from inside its egg, so hopefully soon I will have two peachicks :fl

Hello! I am semi new. I have posted here or there over the years but mostly just do a lot of reading through the threads. I have been reading through this one for 2 days now waiting on my first batch of chicks to hatch! I made a homemade incubator last month and set 6 eggs from my flock. There are 5 that were good to go as of day 18 but I haven't candled since and so far three have pipped! Another is rocking around! This is so exciting I had to share with someone besides my husband who thinks I've lost it! Lol I can't pull myself away from the incubator!!!
