Katie used to sing it this way when she was little and it stuck! Consider yourself one of the elite to have it sung to you, Amy!!
Ok do you guys help out with ducks too?
Here is my issue...We all live and learn so please dont be harsh!!
I got overly excited about incubating that I added my duck and chicken eggs all together at the same time in the incubator. It was on day 5 that I realised they have different hatching times :/ I know a bad rookie move but all embryos were doing awesome so we kept going. I was going to get another incubator to hatch the chicks on lock down but that didnt happen..... :/
So I didnt know what to do?!?!?
I took out half the turners and left the duck eggs in the bator on the turner.
I then used a cardboard egg carton top to lay the chicken eggs on and it was wet to help with humidity. I kept the bator at 100 and the humidity at 58/60
As you guys know ALL 9 of my chicks hatched...I had to assist the last 3 but I was excited because I didnt think they would.
NOW yesturday was lock down for the ducks. I took the egg turner out put the mesh in and then wet papertowels down and as I was transferring the duck eggs 11 out of 15 had pipped!!!! By this morning there are 11 holes, 1 is breech and 1 has pipped in the middle. Some are badly stuck to the membrane :/
My daughter and son had an apt today (they have strep ugh) and when we got home 2 had hatched! The 3rd one hatched as soon as we got home.
Now the one that have hatched STILL HAD YOLK in the eggs!! They act fine, are ALL over the bator and taking naps.
Now there are several more that still only have the hole where they are stuck they have chipped away trying to move. You can see it dried to them. 3 of them you can see pretty good, so I took coconut oil and rubbed on the dry area to soften it up. Once freed the one has started to zip itself...the other flipped inwards and ????
I know they are hatching early....will they live if they havent absorbed all their yolk?!?! Worried...chicks were so much easier!!
