Oh yeah, she still needs lots of time.

Do you think it'll be ok exposed like that in the incubator? By the way we were told this was a Aylesbury duck... I don't really think so now lolOh yeah, she still needs lots of time.

Y'all are absolutely right. They are your eggs, your birds. You can do with them as you wish. I'll be on my way feeling sorry only for those poor hatchlings that don't make it or grow up to perpetuate the problems. No need for any further sass from any of you. Best of luck.
On a more pleasant note, I locked down my first goose egg of the year and all 26 call eggs that weren't clear (I started with 30, had four clears) made it to lockdown. Two had air cells that didn't grow well for some reason so they are not locked down and are being misted several times a day to hopefully get some more moisture loss before internal pip.
If all goes well I should have gosling and duckling pictures to share by Easter!
I done paper towels before and I agree it made the eggs cold. I have some coconut oil so I'll lube it up as best as I can. Think I'm going to stay here and sit up all night with it making sure it's moist etc. Feel bad for her as this is her first time aswellJust oil/lube it up really well, use a qtip and rub some up underneath and around the membrane as much as possible... parts of it will dry and stick, but that can be worried about after yolk is absorbed and navel heals... you can always gently rinse off dried bits after a couple days, no worries...
Draping wet paper towels over or around a little one generally ended up chilling them, IME...
Just some pics for those that say intervening is wrong... I guess Crash and Lady Grey never got that memo, lol...

I literally just asked if you were still here lol. I've changed my pic so I know no one recognizes me lol. I plan on trying my hand at some call eggs. Wondered if you might have some tips?
Coconut oil is the best, membrane can still dry out but it won't shrink on the duckling... plus it peels off much easier later on...
Don't use an upright autoturner...
Typey Calls or PQ? Local or shipped? Type of bator?
They unfortunately will be shipped. We don't have local breeders. I've only purchased a few eggs. Wanted to see how I do with these. I will have a second incubator with Welsh Harlequins if only one hatches. I'm using the brinsea Eco 20 with the auto turner. I can lay them down instead of up right if thats better. Should I still do a 180 turn if using the auto turner?
