I'm not sure if the chick is pooping. I moved her into the brooder with the other chicks. I tried to convince her to eat today, but she showed no interest. She can't stand without falling over, so I was holding her next to the food. I can give the nutridrench a few times a day easily enough.

Unfortunately this happened to my only survivor polish chick. Came to the point where it was with me 24/7 but I think it had internal issues as it didn't make it. Hopefully yours perks up soon

Oh, there are multiple reasons. Obviously the incubation and hatching conditions are a big factor, but I assume you mean when all of those things were in good ranges, what else causes it?

Genetics - some breeds carry lethal genes that allow chicks to develop, but die before hatching.
Parent stock - if the originating parents aren't healthy, chicks can fail to complete the process.
Malpositions - if the chick doesn't position correctly, sometimes they just can't finish the process.

Um... I'm sure there are more, but those are the 3 that first popped into my head

ETA - bacteria entering the incubator or something like that could also be a cause

Everything was in constant range. I had seven make it to lockdown, one externally piped and then died. Two ended up hatching and the rest have done nothing.

What breed? Are you positive of the numbers? I mean, are you sure its day 22? (not being mean, it happens a lot and I have personally miscounted also) Were your meters verified for accuracy? Were the air cells proper size? Did you have your vents open?

Yes; days are right, I did use cheap thermometers but I used several and calibrated them all. I did a dry hatch with the vents open and these were shipped eggs so I have been keeping an eye on the air cells but not weighing them.
I think its the cheap incubator. And these are Barred Hollands.

I have no idea how hard barred hollands are to hatch, but everything sounds ok, so hopefully someone else thinks of something else.
Shipping creates issues, but if they made it to lockdown, that probably wasn't as much a factor.

I have 2 Octagons. One digital with the humidity pump, one analog. I can't think of anyone with an Ovation, they are so new. There is an Ovation thread, you may get some info there.

Have you tried meters that have been tested and are accurate to see if the unit is reading properly?

I have two other hygrometers, they have the same reading. I believe the vent is too small and or there is no mechanism to lower the humidity when room humidity is not closer to 20%. False advertising I would say when they claim humidity range is 20-80%.
