I have a waterer hanging in my coop. When the chicks are drinking it swings and water spills on the bedding below it. Does anyone have an idea of how to prevent spillage? Has someone devised a tray that won't prohibit the chickens from getting to the waterer, but prevent the spillage?

Set the waterer up on a cinder block. To prevent them from flying up and pooping all over it, take a chunk of wood and tie it to a piece of twine or string. Then hang it so the wood hangs right above the waterer. When the chickens try to fly up and land on the waterer, they'll hit the chunk of wood and it will swing around and scare them.

I keep mine on cinder blocks too. That's a really good idea with the hanging block of wood!
