Hanukkah

Well I live in Israel & I guess we will have a kibbutz Chanukah though I'll leave the organizing to my bf as he is more religious. I'm just happy to be here & be Jewish.
 
Just curious... why is it spelled two different ways? I'm not Jewish and I've always wondered about that.

It's only spelled one way in Hebrew, but because Hebrew and English don't have exact equivilents, it's difficult to say how it should be spelled in English. There are several accepted ways to spell it in English.
