Hello everyone,
I will be a first time chicken hobbiest. I do have other animals as weLL. We have a bird friendly St.Bernard, 2 cats (not sure how they will be with chickens). And 2 kids (ages 18 months, and 9 years).
I am in the planning stages of our first coop!
We will be moving in April to our own house (currently renting a suite), and the yard has .45 acre. We are very excited to plan our coop with laying hens. We may eventually add a seperate coop for meatbirds (not 100% sure on this yet).
Currently we are allowed to have 5 backyard chickens per household.
I look forward to researching more about dofferent breeds of Chickens, and all the care involved. I am so excited to start this hobby with my kids!
Freeranged eggs for the win!!!
