Heard a Welsh man speaking Gaelic, and it was the most unusual sounding language I've ever heard. Tried getting directions from a Scotsman, and I couldn't understand a word! He was supposedly speaking English and was enjoying himself tremendously at my expense!I have a terrible ear for languages, and need to see things written out before I can learn.![]()
Actually, you most probably heard a Welsh man speaking Welsh. Our language is related to Gaelic, but it's a different branch of the Celtic languages. Sort of like cousins rather than siblings.
