As I mentioned before, my Dad called on Saturday to wish me a Happy Birthday. Then he called today, and called and called. A total of 4 calls on the house phone and twice on my cell. He got it in his head he was supposed to call me for my birthday and boy did he ever do it!

And that's what Dad's do. You'll always be his little daughter. I look at my daughter and the strong independent woman that she is and I 'see' and realize all of that, but part of her is still that infant that I held and protected.

I've actually been upset all day because my dad took a serious fall yesterday morning. He has stitches in several fingers, a badly banged up elbow and they used dermabond (glue) to close up the wound on his head. I feel like a failure as a daughter, cuz I"m here and he's so far away.
