Julie looked for a person to buy the horse from.
A man walked over. "What are you looking at this old scrawny bag of bones for?" he asked gruffly, 'patting' the horse's head roughly. The stallion ducked his head further that it already was, he seemed to have completely given up. His black coat was dull, his mane and tail were scruffy and matted.
Julie waited for a moment, biting back a stinging retort. "I want to buy him. How much is he?"
The man laughed. "Buy him? What for, a scarecrow?"
"Just tell me how much he is" she growled.
"$1250. That's why he's been here so long, Nobody wants to buy a sack of bones for that much" he said, patting the horse again, almost knocking him over.
Julie sighed and the stallion glanced up at her, his eyes sad and scared. Julie smiled gently at the stallion and handed the man the money. Jack looked at her, confused, as did the man,
Julie just smiled and clipped a lead to the horse's halter. "Come on buddy" she said with a smile, leading him slowly towards the trailer.
