She smiled. "C'mon Peace!" she called. Peace raised her head and followed. Julie put Peace in the stall with Hope and went to the truck, petting Grace, Abbie, Will, Holly, and every other horse she passed.
She smiled and pulled into a smallish country store, where a dog greeted them at the door. The store smelled of hay and leather. A older man walked over in blue jeans, boots, a white western shirt and a cowboy hat. His skin was tan from years under the sun, and his hands callused. His warm blue eyes and grandfatherly smile greeted them. "How can I help you girls today?" he asked.
He smiled and whistled. The dog trotted over, sniffed Danny, looked at her for a moment, then trotted towards one of the shelves. The man laughed a bit. "I'd take his advice, if I were you" he said. "That dog never failed me yet"
