I think you pretty much have to watch her like a hawk (sneakily, so she doesn't notice) and follow her. If the kittens are alive she will be full of milk, if not, she will dry up fast.

Unfortunately, sometimes Tom's will kill all babies. Is there one hanging around?

there was a while ago but we think someone is taking here in and only letting her out at certain times now we are going to put a collar on her and if anyone calls maybe they will have the kittens? And after that we will try to lock her up this time... How do we know how far through she is in the pregnancy? She is an outside cat so we hardly see her when should we lock her in? She seems like a round kitty Now :lol:

Help fast pleasE... so I go over and check eggs and two white leghorns have flopped over combs and i guess they were sort of pail an d like usually they don't let me pick them up at all but these two were like just standing in one place hardly moving I was getting pictures of the ones comb to put on here when I turned around and one was laying on her side not normally and she was still breathing but looked like she was dying so me and my brothers came and got My dad and they went back to check on them and they were up and moving and fine????? How is this possible?
 
Regarding your cat - sorry, I don't know what to think about your chickens - If she has kittens you would be able to see her nipples and the hair around them would be worn off, so they would be pretty easy to see. And, this is how you tell when they get close to having kittens . . they get full of milk, although not as apparent as when nursing. Although if she is fat, she hasn't had them. She'll be skinny right afterwards.

Momma kitties are totally sneaky about birth, whether in the house or outside. Outside cats will hide them as much as they can (because of Toms and other predators). In walls of barns or sheds, under bales of hay or straw, in the ceiling . . it's amazing. Then, if you can't get to the kittens they grow up wild. You definitely don't want that. Maybe you could start giving her a treat, like milk or tuna, each day at the same time so she starts coming around same time every day. Just an idea.
