Dh is going to visit his grandmother Friday night and will take our girls with him, so a little quiet time for me! I have been craving Chinese food and am planning to go eat some all by my little self

I got 10 free watermelons for my geese from a local farmer

Sprouts had berries on special. I got strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. I made a custard sauce to go on top. I might just skip dinner and go straight for dessert. Except I made Indian food....YUM!

Mr goose snuck up behind me, and took a CHUNK out of my.... jeans! My leg was fine! It didn't hurt much at all! He made a grab for a fold of fabric in the back of my calf, and didn't get much of me at all! I am SO happy! It would have hurt like the dickens if he'd just aimed better! That's my happy thought.

I ordered two cheese making books today and am looking very forward to getting them and trying my hand at some homemade goodies! YUM!!! That makes me happy

Hi! One happy thing is my computer is working again (that may be debatable!).
Critters are happy, I'm happy, the husband is usually happy --- can't ask for more

...I'm especially happy that I have 6 gallons of Muscadine Grape juice fermenting to *hopefully* make wine.
The Muscadines here had an especially great year and I already made all the jelly / juice I have room to store, and still had loads of grapes to pick (if you plant them for just the chickens, they will be happy. The birds get all the grapes from the arbors on their fences). Couldn't let all those lovely grapes go to waste, so I thought I'd try wine-making.

It rained.

Cooled off the temps and we have even cooler temps on the way!

This summer has been so hot here with 100 plus temps for the last six weeks. This is the first real rain we have had in a couple of months. My grass was all brown! Now it will turn green and grow and I will enjoy mowing it!

And my chickens must have enjoyed it too....I looked out and they were all out in the run scratching around.

Rain is a wonderful thing!!!
