Hello my name is Amanda,
My grandfather was anchorage of the egg division for many years so the moved from chicken farm to chicken farm while my mom was growing up. When I was out of high school and living with him he got 25 rhode island reds and I helped with them since his health was going downhill. Then the place I rented for six years had a neighbor with her own chickens and I helped her too. Now my husband and I moved to Florida and I just bought 11 hens and a rooster.
I have two 8 month old Silver Lace Wyadots that are laying. The rooster and the other hens are farm mixes but one resembles a barred rock. They are all a little over 3 months old - so when they develop more I will post pictures and see if anyone can classify what breed they resemble most.

My other hobbies are gardening - both vegetable and flower gardens. I also crochet and cross stitch when moved to do so - and I enjoy cooking - but not baking too much We just started making our own pizza's.
My husband and I farm here with our adopted senior dog granny and two cats. We are both looking for new careers, but have a lot to do around the house to keep us busy until we find it.
